Random Stuff for October

I haven't been posting much for several reasons.  So to play catch up with a few things:

1) The Bunny Hunt.  Get goodies from Grumble!  Time's half over.

2) Been hanging out a lot at a new club called Stiletto's when I'm in world.  Here's a nice shot of me in an old but good green dress from Blakopal.  I really think if you are OK with femdom, and like the steampunk aesthetic, you'd enjoy this place.  Weekly events, DJs, live performances, and the folks are friendly and pretty laid back.  Blakopal makes some of the best steampunk fashion in SL if you ask me.

3) More construction at Pair A Dice.  I've put up some decorations, but I've also used a gift from Stiletto's folks and a few bits of my own to put in a spooking grave yard next to the chapel.  Very lovely for the season.  So come by and visit the Pirate's Rest.

Incase, I hadn't noticed.

I love to travel the byways of the Internet looking at artwork.  A fair bit of it is rather naughty.  I see a lot of things by artists like Grigbertz (Who has an inworld shop called Bondage Witch Project.), Bonk, Naylor, Brian Tarsis (Another SL resident who used to market castles.), Dmitrys, etc. etc.  Among this throng was an artist who signs their work "Incase."

So that's not a typo in the post title.  What I hadn't noticed until very recently was that with all my recent mesh and skin modifications to my avatar, I've become very much like one of Incase's characters.  When I did notice, I went the final step and made some prim pierced nipples that match.  I had an old set, but they had rings.  Here's a comparison shot of me looking all femboi, and one of the Incase's characters.  They say great minds think alike...

Fashion for the flatchested!

I was watching some documentaries on SL on Netflix and Youtube a while back and one of them commented on virtual worlds and MMOLRPGs in general as reinforcing gender stereotypes.  To a degree I think they may have a point, with the recent influx of mesh fashion, most vendors of men's clothes have made them for massive hulking muscled types.  And the vendors of womens clothes have tended toward the busty.  Even XXS sizes are often made for avatars chestier than what I consider ideal for mine.  And most vendors don't include a XXS.  Sometimes they stop at Small.  Which frankly would typically leave Betty Page enough room to bounce around in.

But there is hope!  Stinky Kitty & Razor Blade Jacket both have some of their mesh tops in a flat chested size!  Yep, totally flat.  Rejoice all ye fembois and grrls.

Still more sacred spaces

Lest you think me hopelessly Christian in my appreciation of sacred spaces in SL, or RL, here is a location that I found quite moving.  Especially given I lean toward Buddhist beliefs in many ways.

The snapshots here show me (in a new outfit from *slave* and shoes from Grumble) exploring the site in SL called Yogyakarta Borobudur.

These locations are based on real world sites that are truly ancient and awe inspiring.  You should stop by and see if you can't find a bit of inner peace.

Being Uhmerican

These days, being a patriotic American seems to almost require that you be a blind sided white bread "uhmericun."  But, as I sit thinking about it, and the pain and struggle that went into bringing together the unlikely confluence of genetics that gave rise to me and others of my generation, I just feel the need to give props to those that came before.

Uncle Angel who gave us pollo con arroz and other Puerto Rican and Columbian comfort food that warms the heart to this day.

Cousin Tony, and his family who gave us Capicola and Salami.  On big white bread buns with oil and vinegar.  Sandwiches that are equaled, but never bettered.

Aunt Betsy who gave us Kielbasa and sour kraut.  Grandma's chicken and dumplings with cracklin's in cornbread.  Etc. etc.

Americans are not from America.  At least not the vast majority of us.  We are from "the old country."  And if, in this day and age we can't stop and relate to those who are recently come from there, wherever there is, or are still there, where ever there is, then that's on us.  And shame, shame on us.

Aint no cure for the summer time blues. And pinks. And...Other random stuff.

As is usual this time of year, not getting around to updating my blog as often as I might like.  And not exploring in SL all that much.  Mostly just hanging out at my usual haunts and shopping when I get time to be in world.  So, I've ended up with a bunch of random snapshots over the last few weeks.  For your enjoyment, hopefully, here they are.

Since I haven't been exploring it should come as no surprise that all these items are from favorite shops.  The pink beach wear is from Grumble, both hunt gifts.  The top from the Candy Girl Hunt, the bottom from Hot Summer Hunt.

Below that is the outfit from Plausible Body that I've had on before in red, now in white, with color change boots from *Slave*.  Next is a woman's tux from Grumble.  Beside that is an ensemble' made up of things from many places, top is from Baby Monkey, skirt Happy Undead and shoes Grumble

The red outfit is a group gift from Happy Undead.  I found the cute parasol I'd picked up somewhere and decided to do some shooting in the rain.

And last, a group gift from Belly Dance Goddess with shoes from Baby Monkey.

Last weekend for the Hair Fair.

I finally got to the hair fair.  And there are lots of bargains to be had.  About half the stalls have either a freebie or dollarbie.  Many have marked down items.  And everyone posts how much of your purchase goes to the charity.  My only complaints are, some vendors freebie/dollarbie offerings are basically useless and insulting pieces of crap.  For example, this ridiculous thing from Enigma.
Yes, those are swim fins stuck on my head.  And frankly the hair doesn't even look that good.  I find paying even one linden for this insulting and I wont be buying anything from this vendor again.  As usual the gifts from a few vendors are odd colors or rather unusual hair dos you probably wont wear often.  My only other complaint?  Well, they based the whole fair build on Legos.  It was a clever idea.  But the execution made for rather ugly overall build.  Hence, the lack of snapshots of the fair itself.  The swim fins are awful enough.

On the other hand, some vendors were giving away really nice items.  For example these two hair dos.  The fro is from EMO-Tion and the Pony Tail is from Miamai.  The retro cat suit is an old fav from SF Design.  The green shoes and everything I'm wearing in the pony tail shot are from Grumble.  The top and skirt are on special this weekend for 10L.

The afro is a lovely bouncy thing full of flexies, and sits on top of a well done hair base tattoo layer.  The pony tail is mesh, so it doesn't ever inter-penetrate your avatar, but it also tends to defy gravity if you end up in an odd position.  The rest of it is also a very nicely textured hair base.  As you might guess, this year, mesh and tattoo layer hair seem to be big.

Another surprise this year, some of the gifts are clothing items.  I don't remember ever getting any clothing at previous hair fairs.  Not that I'm complaining, they were mostly mesh and rather well done.

Hope you make it to the fair if you already haven't.

New Construction in Pair A Dice

Recently the owner of the sim I call home, Pair A Dice, decided to do a bit of remodeling.  She removed a smithy and stable, that were very nice builds, in the desire to have a chapel added to the island's buildings.  Well, thanks to the generosity of Belle Dejour, I happened to have a low prim mesh chapel in my inventory.  So I set that up and decorated it for Raychill and any of the visitors to the island.  Here's a couple of shots showing how it turned out.
Exterior view.  Miss Ray added the ivy, which I think is a nice touch.

The interior.  I made the pews and altar from scratch.  A friend, Prissy, made the bows.
After we finished this, Raychill still wanted a stable, so she left a few "furnishings" rezzed and I built a small two stall stable and smithy around them. Here's a shot of that.
A view of the new smaller stable and outdoor smithy.
In these shots I'm wearing a dress by *Slave* Dressing Room and some nice matching shoes from Grumble.  One of the things I like about building in SL, you don't have to get dirty or dress all construction worker.  I can build in a cocktail dress, slacks, gown, suit or nothing as it suits me.

SL on TV again, sort of.

The TV show on cable's TNT, called Perception, recently featured an episode called Calidescope.  To quote the episode synopsis, "Pierce and Moretti venture into virtual reality to investigate the murder of a man who obsessively played a multiplayer online game, causing the line between reality and fantasy to blur even more for Pierce."

They used a lot of cheating, unlike the old CSI episodes which actually used footage of SL, they simply shot the actors on different sets as their "virtual selves."  They also brought up some of the common, pop psych issues about spending time and having relationships online.  Some of which have some merit, but others just seem to miss the point. But I'd make a small wager that someone involved with writing and shooting the episode spent a least a little while in SL.

If you like oddball crime shows and are a frequenter of SL, you might find this episode interesting.  I'm sure it will be available on demand someplace if you don't catch it during a broadcast, or with your DVR.

Hope you are having a great life, in or out of virtual reality.

Great Goodies from Grumble

Well SL is acting better for me these days, but I had an RL setback that has made me scarce in SL for a bit.  I am looking forward to visiting the Hair Fair and the Food Fair and seeing all the neat new fashions, and picking up the bargains and freebies.  But until I get there, I'm making do with what is on hand.  And those are mostly some nice new items from Grumble.  The cute pink minidress and the ruffled skirt are from the selections for the Food Fair.  The over-sized T is from the recent Naughty & Nice promotion.  The Kerchief top is from LOoLOo, not Grumble, but it looks good with that skirt doesn't it.

Locations are at Pair A Dice and Miko's Beach.  The bench above is something I put in a small court yard next to a chapel we recently setup on the island.  It's a lovely spot, you should come on by sometime and see it.

SL is behaving badly tonight.

I think we are seeing the first awful effects of the server side baking roll out.  Things were just plain weird in SL tonight for me.  In both Firestorm and Singularity, regardless of which sim or server type I was on.  The oddest thing was that new alpha layers would not bake, but old ones seemed to do OK.  If you can call taking two or three minutes to bake after they show as worn, OK.  Was going to upload some fashion shots and a snapshot of a bridal chapel I made for a friend, but SL was to annoying to stay in for long and take snapshots.  So that will have to wait till another night.

RGB Gowns

For the most part, while I like mesh, formals and gowns made mesh style are just now starting to develop some potential.  Below are three examples.  The red dress is from *Slave Dressing Room*.  The blue one is from Sassy and incorporates flexies for the flounce at the bottom which I think is a good idea.  And the green one is from Evensong at Grumble.  I like the clean lines of the Green one, the flexi of the blue one and the asymmetry of the red one.  But all of them have the inherent limitations of mesh and wont "work well" in all situations.  None the less, I wanted to show you that I think progress is being made.

Milk & Cream?

A long time ago I went to a place in SL called Milk & Cream Island.  It was a, let's call it quirky, adult sim.  Recently I was sort of steered there again by a conversation with a friend.  And I must say, it has become one of the nicest Medieval fantasy builds I've ever seen.  They have a website where you can read about it here. But I took some travelogue style shots while wearing my new more male elf look.  So I'm including those here to give you an idea how nice the place looks.

An idle dream?

Was up late tonight, couldn't sleep.  And though a weird twist while in SL the subject of Shakespeare came up in a conversation.  I admit, I am something of a fan of the Bard's work.  I have been since I discovered a thick book with this bald dude on the binding in my dad's library.  More recently I've really enjoyed Kevin Branagh's film adaptations.  If you are not into the Bard, you might recognize Branagh as the Director of the recent Thor film.

And whilst having this conversation, two soliloquy's came to mind, that seem most appropriate for those I've met in SL.  One is Puck's epilogue from Midsummer Night's Dream.

If we shadows have offended,
Think but this, and all is mended,
That you have but slumber’d here
While these visions did appear.
And this weak and idle theme,
No more yielding but a dream,
Gentles, do not reprehend:
if you pardon, we will mend:
And, as I am an honest Puck,
If we have unearned luck
Now to ‘scape the serpent’s tongue,
We will make amends ere long;
Else the Puck a liar call;
So, good night unto you all.
Give me your hands, if we be friends,
And Robin shall restore amends.”

This seems especially appropriate for those who somehow think of SL as a game, or illusion, something with no RL impact.  But there are those who see in SL a dream of a different sort.  They are often people who are tortured by their RL limitations.  And to those, perhaps the ever so famous speech by that young and gloomy prince, Hamlet, may strike a note.

"To be, or not to be, that is the question:
Whether 'tis Nobler in the mind to suffer
The Slings and Arrows of outrageous Fortune,
Or to take Arms against a Sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them: to die, to sleep
No more; and by a sleep, to say we end
The Heart-ache, and the thousand Natural shocks
That Flesh is heir to? 'Tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep,
To sleep, perchance to Dream; Aye, there's the rub,
For in that sleep of death, what dreams may come,
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause. There's the respect
That makes Calamity of so long life:
For who would bear the Whips and Scorns of time,
The Oppressor's wrong, the proud man's Contumely,
The pangs of despised Love, the Law’s delay,
The insolence of Office, and the Spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his Quietus make
With a bare Bodkin? Who would Fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscovered Country, from whose bourn
No Traveller returns, Puzzles the will,
And makes us rather bear those ills we have,
Than fly to others that we know not of.
Thus Conscience does make Cowards of us all,
And thus the Native hue of Resolution
Is sicklied o'er, with the pale cast of Thought,
And enterprises of great pitch and moment,
With this regard their Currents turn awry,
And lose the name of Action."

To think, these words were penned around 400 years ago, and still have such power.  Words, ideas, emotions, feelings, all are ephemeral and amorphous things.  But how many great and sweeping changes have they birthed into our world over the ages?  From Gilgamesh to Beowulf, Shakespeare to George Lucas, Sargon to Saddam...

One should never confuse that which is not physical, with that which is not real.

Grumbling for the summer.

As we get into summer, it is harder and harder to even consider looking at my avi wearing a lot of clothes.  I know it's silly, the temperature is irrelevant in SL.  None the less, I am tending more and more toward summery things.  Such as this outfit featuring a new ruffled mesh top from Grumble.  The sandals are J's, the skirt Happy Undead.  And the hair is an oldie from Grumble as well.

The photo was taken at Momi-chan's.  You might also notice I'm wearing my old star tattoo.  For some reason I've been in the mood for that lately.

Picked up some other neat stuff and also been exploring, but this is all I feel like blogging about today, will try to update more soon.

Hope you are enjoying both your lives.

Happy Birthday Second Life

SL recently turned ten years old.  They have set up a huge exhibit with clubs, displays, information, and other just plain wierdness in celebration.  I took a tour of it on the actual 10th Birthday, the 23rd of June.  Here are a few shots of some of the more scenic things I happened across.
Riding in one of the trams past a very very very large tree and shroom.

Atop a very unusual, and large, tree with flowers that shoot...laser beams?

Run, it's Goz...No wait...Er...It's a Tarask, I think.  But the real question is, where do you find a plush bunny that big!?

This looks neat now, it was even better in the 3D world of SL.

A peek under my typist's arm.  No wait...

Deep Thoughts

I've mentioned before that I have formed my own personal beliefs from many sources, religion, philosophy, wise words from my elders, even pop media.  I twist them all to own ends of course, and what went into my head, is not always quite what comes out.  But I have a couple of deep philosophical things I just have to vent on, so I'm going to start out with a pretty picture and a quote from Bablylon 5.  I use one quote frequently in my profile shots.  "I am gray.  I stand between the candle and the star."  Because I think it says a lot about me, and it's pretty.  As it happens, the day I found this sim, I was wearing gray.  But that's not the quote that I mean.  You'll have to keep reading.

This is a shot of me in a Bablylon 5 Role Playing sim I bumped into recently.  And if you've never seen the show, I strongly recommend it, and even go so far as to say that FX, which were ground breaking CGI at the time, hold up surprisingly well all these years later.  The show was mostly a single story over five seasons, much of it written by creator J. Michael Straczynski .  Who is probably known to some Marvel fans as well for his work in that cannon.  It's a five year long story of people doing things that they were not supposed to do, some for the good of others, some for the good of themselves, some for complex reasons.  The fact those who first seemed the bad guys turned out to be "the good guys," and those that seemed harmless did great harm, was an interesting twist on the cardboard cut outs of most TV series characters.  One character said something I have taken to heart.

"You know, I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe."
Marcus Cole to Franklin in the episode 'A Late Delivery from Avalon'
There is another old saw that I have had trouble learning, and but one that seems truer and truer the older I get it is, "No good deed goes unpunished."

Which brings me to my next deep thought.  You may not have heard about it, but a member of the hacker group Anonymous recently released information that assisted police in arresting, charging and convicting a pair of rapists.

You can read about it here.

Ones first thought is "Go KYanonymous!"   As is my 2nd and many that follow.  But among them are the thought, he did break the rules to get that information.  The same skills he has for doing good, are very easily used for doing not so good.  I think of it much like carrying a pistol.  One typically needs some authorization to do that, because, pistols are frankly much better at doing bad things than good things.  So society wants some assurance that your motivation for carrying the gun is for the good.   It's hard to do that with a set of skills.

As a general rule, I disapprove of hacking into secure systems much as I do peeping in windows, running stop signs, and other such activity.  I do not look on it nearly as bad as malicious activity such as using various types of malware for personal gain, to vandalize or misappropriate data or a system, or simply for the "fun" of it.  But the skill set is essentially identical.  So, since legislating on "motive" is nearly impossible, I am generally OK with laws against hacking.  But I think the penalty when you are caught should be strongly influenced by what you did with the information you accessed.

Coming down hard on KYanonymous sends the wrong message to him, and to everyone.  Hackers and Joe Bob on the street.  For one thing, what he did is not fundamentally different than what law enforcement is starting to do.  I saw a thing about the NYPD using social media to catch gang members.  Then there's all the furor over various government agencies mining data off the Internet in other ways.  So, obviously, society, or at least the government, seems OK with what he did, as long as they do it.  So, what he did was do good, using a dangerous skill, without authorization.

Do we really want to send a message to everyone that you have to stop and ask the authorities before you do good?  OK, grabbing a gun and going all vigilante', not saying that's good.  That's bad.  The police will shoot you and you might shoot the wrong person.  Don't do it.

But let's say you are walking down the street and you see someone laying unconscious just on the other side of a glass door in a building.  You see fire in the back far behind them.  Do you call the fire department, or break in the door and drag them out then call the fire department?  OK, take the fire out of the equation.  Do you call an ambulance?  Or break down the door first?  That makes it a harder choice doesn't it?  What if the person laying there would die without CPR till the medics arrived?  What if you happen to be a lock smith and have a set of picks in your pocket, so you don't even have to break in the door.  What if a burglar broke into the building and found them unconscious, but if he helps them out of the building he knows he'll be caught...

In a lot of the options I've given above, you may have just committed a crime by breaking into the building.  Very gray stuff.  But after much thought, and for no good reason since I have no pull in the big bad world, here's my take on it.  He should be applauded for doing good.  Then charged, given a suspended sentence and put on parole for a number of years.  That number should in no case be longer than the sentence received by the rapists.

I think that clearly says, you did good.  But you broke the rules.  Everyone should want to do good.  But know that breaking the rules to do it has consequences.  If you don't really hurt anyone in the process, then you will not be punished this time.  But we encourage you to get authorization from someone appropriate next time before doing good.

Why do I think we should do it this way?  Because the universe is unfair.  But humans need not be.  The legal system is not about justice, it is about the law.  But it is unjust to punish a "good" act beyond what it merits.  And given, as far as I know, no harm was done to anyone but the rapists, and the information was made available to authorities to utilize.  How is this different than an anonymous phone in tip?  If you do not know how they got the tip.  How is it different from cutting a deal with a law breaker to dismiss a lesser offense in exchange for evidence about a greater crime?  Yes, there are specific differences, but I do not see any differences in how this helped "society."  What harm did he do beyond the act of breaking a law?  If that is not a true assessment of the happenings, perhaps I would change my thoughts on it.  But until I know more, that's my take on it.

Dancing the digital tush off.

As usual, been exploring, shopping and dancing in SL.  Not mention chatting with friends.  Here's me in an outfit from Happy Undead, with boots from *Slave Dressing Room* dancing at Ladyboy beach.  The one next to it is me dancing with a friend at Touch of Pleasure.  That's Lacey in white.  You have to admire her style.  I'm in a number from *Slave* and leggings from Grumble.

Grooving at Ladyboy Beach.
Lacey dances with me at TOP.

And yay, this is my 100th post!  Queue the band!

Happy Accident

I finally decided to make a new profile shot using my new Kumi skin from Pink Fuel.  However, I wanted it to be more of a "head shot."  For one thing, my avatar now changes shape between waist and chest quite a bit depending on the Pink Fuel "chest" tattoo and matching shape.  It goes from male, to very modest breasts to more typical, though still not exactly bountiful, breasts.  To that end, I set up a back drop, played with the winlight settings and put on a simple white mesh shirt.  Then I started trying out poses, going for head and shoulders mostly, or a bit further down since the shirt really turned out to hide the shape changing parts of my avatar.

While taking snapshots, I got one with my avatar's head sharply turned to the side.  This was completely accidental.  It turned out that pose's animation did not lock the position of the head.  So when I moved my mouse to click and take a shot, my head turned to follow the mouse movement.  I grumbled at the time.  But then I started going through the dozen or so shots and found I really liked the "feeling" of that accidental shot.

So I cropped it a bit, added my now customary quote and there it was, my newest profile snapshot.

Randomness

Over the past couple of weeks, I've been exploring and shopping quite a bit.  Why?  I've been sick with a cold that just wont quit.  So, haven't been feeling terribly social or naughty.  As a result, I've ended up with some random shots I'm just going to dump all together into this one post.  Hope you enjoy!

Brown Leather
The new Grumble Metro Station

The brown jacket and the shoes are Grumble, the skirt Happy Undead.  The outfit I'm wearing at Grumble station consists of capris and sneakers from Grumble, socks from SF Design and a top from Baby Monkey.  I have that same top, or one nearly identical, in white from Grumble.  I want to mention here that Happy Undead provides far more sizes for each of their mesh products than any other vendor I've yet dealt with.  This is very different from most vendors who only provide between 3 and 5 sizes.

On the exploration front, I found a new spot called the "Elven Glen" at Elfwood.  Here's a shot of it.  Along with a couple of shots of a Pandora (As in the planet from Avatar full of Na'vi".) role playing sim.  I toured it with a friend of mine named Pixie.  I'm wearing various jungly bits from here and there.  If you must know what any of them are IM me in world.  The mask I'm wearing the the scrubs looking outfit Pixie is wearing are available to everyone at the hub where you enter the sim.
The Glen at the Elven Forrest.  (Skybox)

The Jungle of Pandora, just outside the Human Base.

In one of the control rooms of the base looking at the hologram table with Pixie.

Beach Bunneh

I'm always talking about mesh clothes.  But another of the good things coming as a result of mesh are some of the cutest furry avatars.  There was a limit to what they could do reshaping the body with traditional prims, sculpties and the base human avatar shapes.  Now, the base avatar can be covered with an alpha layer making it invisible, and you can make just about anything you want out of mesh, then attach it to the avatar making a rigged avatar of any shape and size.  Obviously all the kinks are not worked out of everything yet, and some shapes rig better than others.  One of the best of such creations that I've seen is by Blue Galaxy.  But they only make a cat, at least as far as I know.  Now, furries are nothing if not creative, so there are many modifications.  To illustrate, here is a positively adorable bunneh dancing on the beach at Touch of Pleasure that started out one of the Blue Galaxy creations, but has been significantly modified.  This is not me btw, just a creative furry I happened to meet.

Play Nice!

I happened to visit the Firestorm/Phoenix project page today and saw this post.

I was flabbergasted.  I'm just as frustrated as everyone else with the current state of SL.  The roll out for Server Side Baking and the viewer changes are causing more crashes per visit than I can remember having in a long time.  Not to mention some other fun bugs and just plain strange weirdness.

But what are people thinking?  The people who make third party viewers like Firestorm and Singularity, do so largely for free because they love the SL experience and the tools that allow it.  The fact SL works most of the time amazes me.  I know just enough about how this stuff works to grasp the complexity of what goes into making a virtual world come alive on my PC.

So people are spewing pointless crap at the nice people who provide us with better tools than Linden Labs?  The people who do it FOR FREE!?

Those people need a serious reality check.  I for one appreciate the work that the 3rd party developers do.  And frankly, the work that Linden Labs does.  I think LL makes some bone headed choices sometimes...  But even so, these people are pulling off a fucking miracle of technology.  And it's not by waving a magic wand.

So to those people who don't like the efforts of 3rd party developers, and Linden Labs, let me tell you something.  Be nice.  Letting developers know about bugs can be done constructively.  Be civil.  Be constructive.

Can't do that?  Then put up or shut up.  Make a better viewer.  It's open source.

White and Black

I've been shopping and exploring a lot lately in SL.  Just haven't felt all that much like clubbing or romping.  Some of that I've been doing with a new friend Lacey.  Who has put together some cute looks.  I should get some snapshots of her to include here.

But for now, here is me, in a white outfit put together with bits of this and that.  The top is from Belle DeJour, the sash, Bellydance Goddess and the white mesh skirt is from Glamorize.  Shoes, jewelry and glasses are all from Grumble.  The whole things cost me less than 10L.  Photos are at Pair A Dice.

By the fire at Sunset.
On the Junk, next to Ma Deuce.

Lacey talked me into going to the Goth Fair.  Not that she had to try hard.  I like shopping with her, and I like things Goth.  Add in the cause is a good one, the Sophie Lancaster Foundation.  I ended up picking up a couple of freebies and some demos, but didn't really find anything I loved.  Though some of the mesh corsets were hard to resist.  There is the the typical black and red, lace and velvet stuff.  But all kinds of things from breedables to furniture can be found in the numerous vendor stalls.  You should come take a look.  And many of the vendors have items done in black & purple that help the foundation and are marked down for the fair.  Even if you don't buy anything, you can donate to the fountain pictured like I did, or other items around the fair.

But when I was shopping with her, I was so not dressed Goth.  But the next day I ended up wearing something a bit more Goth-ish.  So I went back and took a couple of snapshots.  The dress is from Happy Undead.  The shoes Grumble.
From the front.
From the back.  Notice what the bunny has...
