Music, straight to the heart?

I think I've been behind the curve lately on some things.  I recently found that Youtube had started to allow longer uploads.  I discovered copies of Beethoven's 9th's symphony, in it's complete form, uploaded as one piece.  If you have never heard it, then go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=DcGQV1hRHJ4 now, do not pass go, do not collect 200 anythings.  It is unarguably one of the greatest, if not the greatest, symphony ever written and recorded.  I cannot listen to it without breaking into tears, repeatedly.  Especially when I consider the fact that the composer was deaf by the time it was first performed.  He never heard it.

Another piece of music that makes me cry is the flower song from Lakme, you can check it out here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4MmatVblDk&feature=related.

If you can listen to these pieces of music, and not feel ...  Some sort of strong emotion, I feel sorry for you.  To me, they define what it means to share emotion through art.  They are the very definition of why I think art, in any form, is a worthy endeavor.
