A Clockwork Spiral worth spending time, and $L.

An event called The Clockwork Spiral, whose proceeds go to the National Kidney Foundation runs till the 1st of October.  It's a neat atmospheric build that's fun to explore.  In addition, it is full of kiosks and shops featuring steampunk themed items for sale.  Many of the items featured on special vendors have some, or all, of their cost go to the charity.  As is often the case, I managed to find a cute little outfit that was both appealing and 100% toward the charity.  I'll post images of that later.  For now, here a few images of the impressive dark and foreboding build, all taken while I was dressed in the cute gothy outfit from Lady in Red with boots from Blackburn.

As it happens there are a good number of other images via Google search if you care to check them out.  I also happened to notice the event seems to be in an adult rated sim, so if you are not verified, that might be issue if you want to visit.

Lady In Red

I recently found a clothing vendor in the Second Life Marketplace under the name of Lady in Red.  They offer several outfits for on 1L.  Below, I am wearing one while dancing at Club Stiletto with the owner Miss Zana and the Manager Monica.  You can visit the shop via browser here.  I think the 1L promo items are pretty spiffy, as are many of their other items, many of which seem to run only around 99L.

The boots are Blackburn, the stockings from yet another shop.  Hair is my favorite from W&Y.

Thrifty is spiffy with Grumble

Grumble is participating in the Thrift Shop 6 event in Second Life.  I've found these events to be great places to find new places to shop and good deals on clothes I like.  It's also a great way to see trends and new fashions. Below are a couple of the items Grumble is featuring at the Thrift Shop this time around.

The darker image on the right features a new top from the Thrift Shop, and older Grumble gear.  The lighter image also features a new Grumble Thrift Shop item, as well as a vest purchased from a different vendor at the last Thrift shop.  Both images were taken at Pair A Dice.

Random thoughts on Photos

Occasionally, one can be glad they were not photographed.  Today, with cameras everywhere, facebook, blogs, tumbler, etc. etc. it's almost like every embarrassing moment everyone has, is captured and broadcast.  In the case of bad things being done to people, I think this can be a mechanism for justice.  But just stupid stuff?  I dunno.

Of course in SL, everyone has a camera all the time.  So...If you are in SL, keep that in mind...

With those thoughts in mind, two tidbits I've found while wandering the web.

Even in the old days, sometimes a photo that is unintentionally embarrassing got free into the world.

For once you might want to land in The Wetspot

I've been away a lot, but I recently found out that the owners of Grumble have opened an adult club in SL.  It's called The Wetspot.  While it's has pretty much what you'd expect to find a large adult club, the build is pretty neat.  It is much like the Grumble main store was two or three builds ago.  Which was my favorite version.  It's all steel, glass and water.  In many places the floors are transparent so it looks like you are walking on water.  So, the name is not only a bit risque, it's a bit of a visual pun.

A number of events are already scheduled.  I do believe they will be having prizes for the best dressed and such.  So I encourage to you stop by, check out the neat build, and maybe pick an event to sample.  I also believe they are hiring dancers, DJs and the like.  So, I'll be stopping by again to see if the Wetspot turns out to be a hotspot as well.  Just keep in mind that a wetspot that is hot, could be steamy. (Feel free to groan, I couldn't resist.)
