More of the big beautiful Rose Theater

I hurt my hand slightly and haven't been in SL much lately because it was pretty painful to type.  However, it is doing considerably better.  So a blog update.

While I was in SL, instead of several of my usual activities that require a lot of typing, I went exploring. I decided to revisit the awe inspiring location Rose Theater.  I had spent probably and couple of hours exploring it and hadn't even seen half of it.  So I went back and just using my uninjured hand and mouse I ranged over the whole thing, viewing every nook and cranny I could find.  Thing is, I still think I've missed some nooks.  The place is huge and maze like in complexity.

I spent a lot of time in the eight, yes that is 8, art galleries that change over time.  Some art I didn't care for, some I adored.  As usual, I am not going to reproduce the artists works here, but I urge you to go check out the show for yourself.

Each room I entered, it seemed like I said to myself, this is the most beautiful room I've ever seen.  Then I'd open the next door or turn the next corner.  In the end, I felt completely overwhelmed and just left the sim to hang out for a while someplace less exciting.

To wet your appetite, here a few snapshots of some of the many interesting things.

This time I started my explorations in the gardens.  In one corner there it is evidently always autumn.  As that is my favorite season, and we are now in high summer where I live (my least favorite season), it made me feel very wistful.  It is as lovely and tranquil a garden setting as I've found in SL.

It turned out there is a library at both ends of the building. I can't decide which I like better. But the two story window here is very fetching don't you think?

This painfully lovely room is effectively a "hallway" from a modern building perspective.  I'd gather it is a particularly fine example of the sort of room that have been called "Halls" in palaces for many centuries.  One can imagine all sorts of state occasions occurring here.  But in this context, you use it to get from one part of the building to another.

I took this snapshot to try and give you some idea of the scale and attention to detail of this place.
This hallway extends halfway across the narrow part of the building.

Waaay back around a kink in a hall a long way down a gorgeously textured and accesorized hallway I found this grand study. Fit for an emperor at the very least, don't you think?

Last, but not least, the sacred space.  I love to visit the sacred spaces in SL.  This rivals them all.  It is like the grand old church of my earliest days, only grander still.  All that seems to be lacking are the little gilded angels that footed the roof supporting arches.

Again, if you are in SL, you really, really, really Should visit Rose Theater and just look around, I do not have the words to describe the baroque, luscious, highly detailed build adequately, and these 2D shots simply do not do justice to the 3D nature of the this gorgeous sim.
