Prissy goes prancing down the runway.

My friend Prissy was a model in a fashion show at Velvet Crossing today.  The designer was Anda Panda, who specializes in Sissy and Domme styles.  The show was well attended and I must say the looks were actually pretty nice.  I'm sorry to say I was crashing too much to get all the snapshots I would like.  But I did manage to get a couple of nice shots.  Here's a wide shot of the models lined up after their runway walk, and Prissy doing her prance.

Sixty one and done.

I was planning on doing two outfits per day for November, to showcase how many different looks one can achieve with just a few lindens.  My intention was for each outfit to be essentially new, never having been posted in my blog before.  So, that would be sixty outfits.  But then I realized I'd pretty much put the outfit #3 on November 24th in my blog ages ago.  You can see it here.  The hair in the new outfit was some new mesh hair, but the outfit was otherwise the same.

So, I've done five more outfits.  Shown below are five looks that incorporate things new and things old, and all cost me nothing to speak of.  Though the apron in number five was a gift, it is not an expensive item coming it at only 60.  Which considering it has several textures included seems a bargain to me.  So, consider my point made.  That with a little effort and not a lot of $L, you can have a well stocked closet of nice clothes for any occasion.  The locations for all the snapshots are at Pair A Dice, except #3, that one was taken at Femboy On Bottom's naughty rooms, which just happen to have a nice Japanese theme.

Here's the customary listing of items featured above:
  1. Black leather mesh jeans from Dive In, knit mesh poncho from Grumble, boots from In Her Shoes.
  2. Candy cane dress from Happy Undead, leg warmer heels from Grumble, hat & hair from Madd.
  3. Short Kimino from Bare@Rose.
  4. Top & skirt from Happy Undead, collor change boots from *Slave Dressing Room*
  5. Apron from Ditzzy Designs, shoes from PB, Stockings from {Etiquette}, head dress by Prissy.
As a special note, the leg warmer heels in #2 are those new style shoes that require you have a specific version of mesh feet from Slink.  Frankly, while the slink feet do look nice, I don't like this trend.  Not everyone wants to pop 600L for a pair of feet.  Especially since there are three different kinds, flat, mid and high.

But in this case, I was able to wear those shoes with mesh feet from Belle Dejour.  And how much did they cost?  Nothing.  If you join Belle's group, she sends out a gift package every few months.  And it's chock full of goodies, many of them adult, but some are like these nice mesh feet.

Turkey Day Week

Like most Americans I have a holiday around Thanksgiving.  But between a hand injury, illness, cooking for the holiday and the holiday itself, I haven't been in SL too much.  None the less, I've made it on a couple of times briefly to continue to rack up outfits to post here.  Below are outfits 49 to 56 counting from the 1st of November. Other than the B@R outfit, they are all centered on items that were obtained via some sort of promotion at little or no cost.  The Hatter outfit is one I've had for a very long time, came in three colors and cost about 150L. That outfit's snapshot was taken at the Rose Theater.  The green and white sweater dress snapshot was made at Somewhere Near Aspen.  All the others were done at Pair A Dice.

The breakdown of what items are from where is as follows:
  1. Sundress by M&M, shoes by Belle Dejour.
  2. Open sides color change dress by *Slave Dressing Room*, shoes by Grumble.
  3. Dress by Lady in Red, shoes by Grumble.
  4. Sweater dress and boots by Tans, OTK socks Grumble.
  5. Texture change dress by ~Candymetal~, boots by ADN.
  6. Asymetrical dress by BLOKC, shoes by color change shoes by *Slave*.
  7. Mad Hatter outfit, less hat, by Bare@Rose.  Shoes by Grumble.
  8. Multicolor sweater by night Mavendorf, latex jeans by DD, OTK color change boots by *Slave*.

Old outfits.

I've been feeling a bit under the weather lately.  So I did not make up new outfits from items I already have.  Or, find new items to build outfits around.  Instead, I just looked through my saved outfit folder and took some snapshots of five outfits I have not posted here before.  Parts of these outfits have shown up in other posts in some cases.  These outfits are the 44th to 48th posted since November 1st.

  1. Dress from Somnia, shoes from Blackburn. (Shoes are color change.)
  2. Dress from Goddess, jacket from Grumble, shoes J'adore.
  3. Jeans from *Lil' Bitz*, top and shoes from Grumble. Mesh hair, but no mesh clothing in this one.
  4. Dress from *Slave Dressing Room*, boots from Kitten.
  5. Oversize sweater from Grumble, pink heels with socks by *Deviant Designs*.

Seven sweater, or sweaty, looks.

I was thinking sweaters tonight, it's still very cold where I am in RL.  So I went through my outfits and found some looks that incorporated sweaters.  As I was looking those over, I found two other rather sporty looks I decided to post tonight as well.  All snapshots were taken at Pair A Dice.

I did pay more than 1L for some of these items.  But most were 1L or less, many were purchased using gift cards won or acquired in various ways.  But the largest out of pocket purchase for clothing was the cropped sweater from Razor Blade Jacket, it was only 150L.  I did pay around 600L for the platform boots I'm wearing with the oversized skull decorated sweater.  But that was a long time ago.  I've never again spent that much on a pair of shoes!

At this point I'm thinking I'll probably stop doing this when I hit sixty outfits.  I hope to do that before the end of this month.  The point?  Just that without spending much by way of $L, you can still create a large number of outfits in SL.  And that with what I've collected, I could easily wear a different outfit every day till the end of 2014.  It is more than likely, that if I bought nothing more, I could wear a different outfit every time I log in till the end of 2015.  Though some of them would probably be less than awesome.

  1. Cropped sweater from Razorblade Jacket.  Shorts from *Tans*. Boots from Blackburn.  Tights from Casimir's.  Hat & hair from Madd.
  2. Cyan & prinstrip sweater dress from *Slave Dressing Room*.  Heels from Grumble.  This dress actually is color change with about a dozen different color/texture options.
  3. Argyle sweater dress with belt from *CahOOts*.  Shoes from Grumble.
  4. Sweater from GG's Designs.  Boots from Duh.  Jeans from Graffitiwear.
  5. Oversized skull sweater from Meli Imako.  Boots by Luka Soyinka.  Hose from PH.  Hair is made by yours trully.
  6. Blue top is from Razor.  Jeans from ADN.  Boots Grumble and cap from FriedrichBecker.
  7. Fleece capris and sneakers from Grumble.  Top from Happy Undead.  Socks from SF Design.

Seven more looks makes from the 37th to 43rd outfits posted since November 1st.

Five more mostly free outfits.

I'm still working out new outfits based around items I've recently found in the SL Marketplace for free or 1L.  Here are several new looks I've put together by combining the new items with some older things to make what I think is an attractive whole.  All that said here are some images.  All are taken at Pair A Dice, except #5, it was taken at a wilderness sim that was done in fall foliage.

  1. An Aztec patterned skirt from Vitrimi, Lace top from Heartless and sandals from J's.  The hair is also new, it is from Felicia.
  2. The mesh Burlesque Corset and skirt are from Cain.  The corset can be worn without the skirt. The hose from AviCandy and the shoes from Grumble.  The hair, another new item from Cassie.
  3. Belted mesh mini from "R" Fashion.  Halter is a modified item from Catnip Loveotomy.  Heels are from Patula's.
  4. Spiffy plaid and denim skirt from Millenaire.  Butterfly top from Grumble, as are the shoes.
  5. Jacket is from Poison.  sweater and pants from SF Design.  Boots from Grumble.  Hat and hair from Madd.
This makes the 32nd through 36th outfits posted here since November 1st.

Still More Snow

About the time people were having record snow falls and every state in the union had below freezing temperatures, I felt compelled to find a wintery setting in SL.  I found a great little sim called Somewhere Near Aspen.  It's adult rated, and has some very cozy little A frame bungalows for that sort of thing.  But it also has lodges, shops, sleds, gliders and other activities galore.  On top of that, if you are in the mood for a snowscape, it is a positively gorgeous sim.

Near the rail station and shops is a small frozen over pond with the mountains in the background.

Nice and cozy behind glass in an A frame bungalow far up the side of the mountain.

As soon as you are clear of the shop and rail station you can look around and go "wow."

Frosty Fashion

The weather where I am in RL has gotten unseasonably frosty, so I've been wasting time indoors playing dress up with free stuff I've found in the Second Life market place. That's right, all of these outfits cost me 1L each or less to add to my repertoire and are completely new mesh gear. You don't have to spend a lot to look good!  All the snapshots below contain outfits built around new items, with older bits and hairstyles added in.  All of them were taken at Pair A Dice except number six, that was done outside Xcite HQ.

  1. Red holiday sweater dress from VavaVoom.  Shoes from In Her Shoes.  Stockings from B@R.
  2. Black & White dress from Voxxi.  Shoes from Patula's.
  3. Red gown with corset from Gatit@s.  Hair from Vignette.
  4. Top, shoes, jewelry and skirt from Iffyta.  (Collor change set in 6 tones.)
  5. Leopard top from Alyce.  Shorts from =Aquarius=.  Shoes from Grumble.
  6. Blue sweater dress from Fantazi, comes with leg warmers.  Stockings from Grumble.  Note that he alpha on this dress was too long in the arms for me, so I had to make some prim mittens and a hand alpha. Without the mittens I had floating disembodied fingers.
These are the 26th through 31st outfits posted here since the 1st of November.

Winter is coming.

No, this isn't a post about Game of Thrones.  Those words were used by people before ole George made it a catch phrase you know.  As it happens, the first really cold days of the year have come to my RL home and it does feel like winter is finally on the way.  And about the same time, I found that Tomomi-san, the owner of Momi-chan's, had redone her garden in a winter theme.  So, to get with the vibe, I put on some warm boots and my favorite puffy white jacket, stood near the nice little fire and took a snapshot.  The coat is from Grumble and has been in my blog before, but I do like it and keep wearing it.  For one thing, being poofy and mesh, it's easy to wear things under it, including nothing at all if you're in that sort of mood.

And, in to keep with the dress up and show off thing that I've got going, here are three more outfits I posed in around Pair A Dice.  The bits and pieces are from all sorts of places like Duh, B@R, Grumble, Baby Monkey and others.  And they are pretty random, as are the sorts of places I took the snapshots.

For the count, that's four more outfits, bringing my total posted since November 1st to 25.

Wicked Pirates

Here are two more looks, one is a Karu Karu latex outfit with Latex boots from Slave Dressing Room.  The other is a open front and back little number from Razor, shoes are from Belle Dejour.

The naughty little open laced dress shot was taken in the salon.  The latex outfit shot was snapped in the dungeons under the mansion at Pair A Dice. A sim based on pirates?  Of course we have a dungeon!

If anyone is counting, these two outfits are the 20th and 21st to be posted here since November 1st.  And today is only the 13th.

Are you an animal lover?

I've had all sorts of pets in RL.  My personal favorite pets are cats.  Cats and I get along.  We understand each other.  Dogs are OK, but I'm just not wired to appreciate the best parts of dogness.  One of my favorite quotes is, "We are gods to dogs, and staff to cats."  I really don't want to be anyone's god.

Regardless, those who look after abandoned animals are worthy of our thoughts, and perhaps our support.  If you think so, perhaps you should check out the Circ De Seraphim which is a fund raiser for the ASPCA.

Four More Random Looks

Without further comment, here are four more random looks.  Mostly from Grumble, mostly mesh.

More Mesh Looks

A few days ago I decided to just start playing dress-up and showing off the results here.  The point?  To demonstrate how many nice outfits a person can put together in Second Life and spend very nearly zero L$ doing it.  Most of these are promos, group gifts, hunt gifts, dollarbies, freebies, etc. all to be had for under 10L.  Those that cost more are, unless otherwise stated, purchased at a discount.  Usually on sale at the shop, or at a promotional event like The Thrift Shop or something run by Relay for Life.  I almost never pay full price for clothes in SL.  Yet, I think I put together a lot of quite lovely looks.

All that said, here are ten more outfits.  All the snapshots were taken in various places around Pair A Dice.  All but one of the outfits is mostly mesh.  That one exception is very old system and prim clothing, and I think still looks pretty cute.  It was also the first dress I picked up in Second Life.

If you are curious as to who made what, here is a quick listing of most of the clothing and shoes.

  1. Pink dress by Meli Imako.  Shoes by Blackburn.
  2. Silver dress by Wolves Virtual Project.  Shoes by Angel Alphaville.
  3. Pink dotted dress by [S].  Shoes by Baby Monkey.
  4. Smock with Arabic by Blaraby.  Shoes by J's.
  5. Oriental Fan dress by ArisAris.  Shoes by Grumble.
  6. Off shoulder smock from Black Dailia.  Boots from Slave Dressing Room.
  7. Dress, shoes and hair all from Truth. (My oldest dress btw.)
  8. Steampunk top by Grumble.  Pants from Karu Karu.  Boots from Blackburn.
  9. Top from Meli Imako.  Skirt from HOC.  I made the hair myself.
  10. Dress from Slave Dressing Room.  Boots from Grumble.
If you follow my blog you might notice that #8 is the item from Grumble I mentioned here that can only be gotten via lucky chair.  Recently, one night while at the shop, I got lucky!

FYI:  If you count since November 1st, I've posted images of 15 different outfits in seven days.

A wedding in Pair-A-Dice

A friend of mine Prissy, aka Amelia, got married last night at the chapel in Pair-A-Dice.  After the ceremony we had a DJ playing music, dancing, merriment and fireworks.  Considering how many hats I wore during this process I'm surprised it turned out as well as it did.  She seemed happy, which is what matters.  Anyway, to commemorate the happy occasion I took a bunch of snapshots.  Here are a few showing the lovely bride, groom, yours truly and the guests.

Saying their vows.

Dancing at the reception.

The cake and some pink rum punch.
Fireworks finale.

Life's a beach.

Keeping at putting more just random outfits here.  Here's a mesh bikini and a t-shirt and shorts combo I've had forever.  Both the t-shirt and the shorts have been in postings before, but this is the first time I've ever worn them together.  I put them on when someone made a comment about being forced to wear a t-shirt and cut offs...

K-Mart? Who cares?

I was wearing what I consider to be a cute little sundress type outfit the other day.  And someone made a comment, I think intended as a joke, about flowery muumuus from K-Mart.  I have attached some snap shots to this post wearing the outfit, made at the Tiki bar at Pair A Dice.  What do you think?  Do you judge this outfit as K-Martish?

Me, I think not, but maybe my opinion of K-Mart is stilted?  Regardless, the whole thing made me think about how many outfits I have saved.  And how many more I could put together.  So, in a vein similar to what I did a couple of years ago, I'm going to put together and post a new outfit every time I log in for a while.  I think this should be an interesting exercise.

More Library Mesh

Last night for Halloween I wore a "costume" that was mostly a mesh avatar from the shared library.  But I've found all kinds of stuff there.  Nearly all of it is no-mod.  And it is not in multiple sizes the way most mesh fashion is.  Each of the mesh avatars in the library has a mesh body of a particular size, so, the mesh clothing meant for them only comes in that size.  Happily, I'm pretty close to the size of some of them.  So, some of these items are usable by my typical avatar.  The alpha layers are much less so, but you can make your own, or find copy alpha layers that come from various vendors for other items.

As an example of this, in the outfit pictured here, the top is library mesh.  But the alpha goes too high on me.  So I had to make a little prim dickey.  The mesh pants from the outfit did not work on me, so I am wearing a skirt from Happy Undead.  Shoes from Grumble and some hose and garters.  I think the outfit is nice looking, perhaps with a sort of sexy secretary vibe.
